Choosing from Golf Club Sets
When you want to choose from different golf club sets what do you use for your criteria? What do you need? Really all you need are some basic clubs to get started. And no matter what, you can never carry any more than 14 clubs at one time. 'Tis the Rule.
The basic clubs needed to play golf for a player are: a sand wedge, a putter, a pitching wedge, the 3 to 9 iron collection and three wood clubs. That is it but once you are playing more advanced you are surely going to want some more specialized and specific clubs that will match and suit your needs and abilities.
But there are some factors to consider when determining your set of clubs and they are your ability or skill level, your spending budget, and possibly how often you play or will play.
Whether you are a low handicap player, mid handicap or high handicap player determines the type of clubs you will need. A high handicap player is a beginner or someone who has not had enough time in to advance his game and improve to the mid handicap range. The mid handicap player has an 11-20 handicap range whereas a high handicap is considered to be close to or over 100. While the low handicap player has a handicap of less than 10. All the handicaps have different club set combinations or additions possible.
A child’s set needs to have certain facts taken into account. They should have child sized clubs. They should not learn on an adult club set. Nor should they have a set that has been cut or modified from an adult’s set as they will be too stiff for the child. There are sets for kids to start with that are child specific and designed just right for them.
They would have smaller narrow grips and the length would be determined by the age bracket. Such as that a 10 year old or less would have a different length than that of a teen or preteen. They will need a club that is balanced just like an adult's but is light weight enough for them to use. They have fewer clubs to contend with so they don’t get frustrated with making decisions on what club to use while still learning. At a younger age they also need the bag they carry to be lighter.
A child’s club set would consist of an iron such as number 6 iron and usually the driver is replaced with a number 3 or a number 5 wood club. Finally one should be sure to measure the child’s wastes to the ground properly to complete the club set with a proper length putter.
There are half sets designed just for a novice player that will be just right for most any situation on the course.
Choosing a golf set is important for the novice player, the child, or the advanced player. But it can be even more important for someone who is just learning, someone who is weak, or someone who just is not a good player yet. Finding and using the right clubs can help in these situations more than anything in the beginning. Learn as much as you can about golf club equipment. Don’t' guess when buying and choosing golf club sets.
